BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE APPLICATIONS

BUILDING A BRIDGE
FROM SCIENCE TO PRACTICE

Behavioral Science Applications (BSA) is a privately held research, training and consulting firm dedicated to facilitating evidence-informed decision making in the areas of homeland and private security, law enforcement, public health preparedness, disaster and emergency management. BSA integrates the methods and doctrines of the behavioral sciences into planning, testing, response and recovery from crisis situations of all types.

Consistent with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate (S&T)-Human Factors/Behavioral Sciences Division (HFD), our goals and objectives are to assist individuals and organizations in accurately anticipating human behavior across the full spectrum of adverse and potentially dangerous scenarios. Understanding human behavior is helpful, but understanding behavior in crisis conditions is critical for leaders, decision-makers and tactical responders.

BSA helps organizations interpret and apply behavioral science research to violence prevention and crisis management plans, policies, procedures and exercises, as well as real-time response. To do so, BSA operates the PSYCH 911™ and Tactical Psychology Group™ divisions, each with a separate but integrated focus.

The PSYCH 911™ division is dedicated to corporate, campus and community crisis prevention and response, while the Tactical Psychology Group™ provides high-level training and consulting services to military, law enforcement, homeland, intelligence and private security organizations.
